New York is a state in the Northeastern region of the United States. It is the nation's third most populous state. It was opened when the federal government took over the responsibility for processing immigrants, prior to that it was the responsibility of the states. 5) The "Statue of Liberty" was a gift from France to the United States to mark the Centennial of the American Declaration of Independence. The idea of giving a colossal representation of republican virtues to a "sister" republic, across the sea, served as a focus for the republican cause against other politicians. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated in New York Harbor on October 28, 1886. 6) Wall Street, "New York Stock Exchange" the largest stock exchange in the world. 7) "Hyatt Hotel" in Baltimore and convention center. 8) Central Park is the most visited city park in the United States. 9) Midtown Manhattan at night from the top of Empire state building. 10) Day view of Midtown Manhattan from the top of Rockefeller Center building. 11) The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest museums in the world. 12) FBI building.
